How do I make a high ponytail if I have curly hair?

I have curly hair that is almost black. When I try to make a high ponytail the front gets really messed up and after i flip my hair back up it gets frizzy. If I try to get the front back to normal the high ponytail slips down to a low ponytail.

I used to just lay on my bed and let my head hang down at the edge of my bed and tie it up while my head was upside down and it always came out nice.

I agree with Lilly. Wash and condition your hair, detangle with a wide tooth comb, flip your head over, gather the hair into a high ponytail (those bungee cord things are great for your hair type, because you're just wrapping them around the base instead of pulling your hair through it and risking potential damage), and then just let it be. Hair spray the roots if necessary to prevent flyaway, and run smoothing or anti-frizz product (whatever you use) through the length, and you're good to go.

How do I make a high ponytail if I have curly hair?

i have curly hair and heres what i do:

1. after the sower, while your hair is dripping wet, put some leave in conditioner and gel or serum in it

2. put your head upside down and shake, then flip up (you might want to put a towel on your back, or this might actually sting)

3. the curls should go straight back and there shouldn't be any part

4. let you hair dry about half way (my hair is thick so this takes about 2 hours... depends if yours is thinner)

5. since the hairs in the front are facing straight back, just take all the ones in the back and lift them up and you hair a ponytail!
