Follow these steps for a blow-out that will leave your hair super straight:

Step 1:

Apply a leave in conditioner (about a quarter-size amount) to the ends of damp hair to moisturize them and protect them from heat damage. Then add a dime-size blob of straightening gel to ends to smooth them.

Step 2:

Pin up three-quarters of your hair, then divide the bottom quarter into 1"-wide pieces. Starting at the nape of your neck, blow-dry hair on high. Style with an ionic-and-ceramic round brush to boost shine and to keep hair from drying out.

Step 3:

Dry each section starting at the roots and slowly working your way to the ends. Run a fine-tooth comb through each 1"-wide piece after you dry it, and smooth hair straight down behind your head so it cools flat. Repeat all over.

Step 4:

Smooth flyaways at your part with a dry matte wax. Rub a dime-size amount between your hands, then run your palms down your hair. With the product on your hands, pinch your ends all over for separation.

CHI straighteners are the best. Don't relax your hair unless it is SUPER strong. You will get a "chemical haircut" otherwise. Your hair will break off from the strong chemicals in the relaxant and your scalp will burn. CHI straighteners don't cause as much damage- just be sure to condition your hair well.

Use a straightening serum (I use Kenra products-they work great!), then put a little shine product in your hair...use a CERAMIC straightenter to do it and NOT a big honking one use a ONE-INCH straightener! Trust me!!

I would not recommend using a relaxer....

good luck!
