WAvY Hair to Curly?

What are the best products/methods for making wavy hair curly? My wife has shoulder length wavy hair and wishes to wear it more curly. We have looked into "salon type" curling aids and some of them use up to 7 different products to achieve curls! Is this really necessary? Not to mention each product is between 15-20 dollars!

Please advise which products %26amp; methods work best for curling wavy hair and if its really necessary to buy all the different products.

Thanks,

I have more wavy hair than curly myself so after washing I will apply some Paul Mitchell foaming pomade to my hair and scrunch, scrunch, scrunch! The foaming pomade stuff sells for between 10-13 dollars. But this method makes my hair really curly and soft.

get a shampoo that says it will make you hair curly. . .herbal essance makes one called totally twisted, or sumthing like that alot of brands have them, then use some mousse, if that doesnt work, then use a curling iron, or hot rollers

I use Fresh Curls Curl Booster with a diffuser. I also scrunch in a texurizing Creme Gel from Fructis before hand for shine and hold. I scrunch really well, to make sure the product is in there and the curl starts to form and THEN start drying. My hair is really curly in front but not so much in the back, so I know how frustrating it can be to encourage curls with no results! I hope this is something that can help!!

i don't think it's necessary to buy all the products...

but if she wants permanent curls, it's best to get them done from the salon n then just buy one of the curl enhancing products (the salon can usually recommend the best, according to quality of the products and also the type of hair ur wife has).

but if she wants curls once in a while, she should just buy a pair of curling irons and one of the products that prevents the hair from burning, to put in her hair before curling her hair (there's a good one from loreal), it's best to curl her hair after having a shower, when it's nearly dry, but not totally...

oh n the curling shampoos don't usually seem to be that effective.

Yes, professional do cost a lot, but they are definitely worth it! If she is looking for a product with not a heavy weight feeling, go with a gel or lotion for hair by Matrix or Redkin. Or a curl definer by Matrix, would really tame out her curls with a soft look. I've gotten awesome results with a curl definer product for my curls.
